 IACIS is a fellowship of educators, researchers, intellectuals, scientists, professionals, and concerned individuals world wide. It is dedicated to sound academic research and the advancement of knowledge about Iraqi society, modern history, culture, art, literature, politics, economy, and development issues. IACIS supports the principle that Iraq needs to evolve democratically as a unified independent society with justice, peace, and human rights for all. IACIS is not affiliated with any institution, political party, government, or corporate structure.

IACIS Conference 2008 - Papers and presentations now online

The Association held its third conference on 16/17 July at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. The conference was attended by over 80 scholars and students of Iraqi studies, with participation from colleagues from Europe, the USA, Japan and the Middle East. The final conference timetable is available online here, together with downloadable versions of presentations and papers.
