IACIS conference 2005
The inaugural conference of the International Association of Contemporary Iraqi Studies (IACIS), was held in London at the University of East London, Docklands campus, on 1 and 2 September 2005. The comprehensive programme included panels on 'Women and Gender'; 'The Media'; 'Occupation, Insurgency and Resistance in Broader Perspective'; 'Imperialism, Strategy and US Foreign Policy'; 'The Economy and Economic Policy'; 'Sanctions'; 'Culture'; 'Literature'; 'Aspects of Nation Formation'; 'Law and Constitution'; 'Iraqi Regional Cooperation', and 'Education'.
